On 24-26 June 2022 Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences organized the large-scale MATE Regatta Dragon Boat Festival in Szarvas, on the banks of Holt-Kőrös.
After a forced break due to the coronavirus pandemic, the dragon boat race returned to its traditional venue, this time under the name I. MATE Regatta.
21 teams delegated by university staff and students and, for the first time in the history of regattas, 2 teams representing high schools entered the event, in which nearly seven hundred people participated as competitors or fans.
On Friday competitors got themselves ready for the races with a huge party, and the downpour that put an end to Saturday’s race sooner than it was scheduled was also followed by a closing party with a great atmosphere.
